TO BE IN DEEP WATER
to be in trouble / to be in a difficult situation
SENTENCE:
You are going to be in deep water if you don’t go home now. You haven’t gone home for almost a week.
DIALOGUE:
Situation 1:
Alpha: Hey, what’s the matter?
Landa: I don’t know what to do. I am in deep water now. My boyfriend learned that I lied to him yesterday. He’s upset!
Alpha: Did you apologize to him?
Landa: Umm.. not yet. He doesn’t want to see me, and he doesn’t take any of may calls.
Alpha: Let him calm down first. Before this day ends, apologize to him. Show that you’re sincere and don’t do it again. He loves you so I believe he will understand as long as you have a good reason.
Landa: I hope so. I will talk to him later. Thank you so much.
